Question by Cha togar m’fhearg gun diola: How can I get a pastry chef degree online?
Is there any possible way to become a pastry chef online? I really want to, but I have three kids (two of them are infants) and I have no time to stop the mommy thing to actually “go to school” I could do it from home, if there is a way to do that. Any tips?

I’ve not heard of such a thing, but I can suggest that you contact the major culinary schools to see if they offer streaming videos of their courses.

Pixia is a free drawing program, originally Japanese and often used for Anime / Manga drawing, but with a good English translation version.

Drawing program, is an understament, as when you dig up some good tutorials, it is an exceptionally powerful program with layer support – one particulat tactic being to use seperate layers for line drawing or shading, or to use a rough working layer which is discarded later.

Question by David: Can a practitioner of Brazilian Jujitsu say they and BJJ are descendants of the arts practiced by the samurai?
One of the descendants beside Judo, Aikido, Hapkido and other Jujutsu schools of course.

Can BJJ be traced back to Japan and be said to be a Japanese martial art that evolved in Brazil?

Best answer:

Answer by Pundragon
Well keep in mind that EVERY martial art is technically traceable back to India (I was a bit gutted when the monastery told me…not sure why).

Travellers would often learn skills and take them to new lands, in the case of BJJ it originated from the Ryu of Japanese art of Kodokan judo and developed into an art of it’s own with the help of the Gracie brothers (recently).

Question by Nancee lala :]]: IS THIS TRUE about the art institutes?
I asked this question like 10 minutes ago about the school I want to go to and someone answered this
that the supposly “franchised” art institutes is worthless for profit schools, mostly lacking regional or programmatic accreditation. Don’t waste your money there.

Is this true? And can you please recommend any other photography schools located in Hollywood los Angeles?

Question by Marie: How to learn how to draw anime?
I have really wanted to draw anime for a long time now, and i just don’t know how and where to start. Any tips, or sites that could help a beginner?

Best answer:

Answer by ❥ℓυ¢íα ℓєσи’
It’s easy.
You draw a round face, with a little angle as the chin.
Then you draw large ovals for the eyes, a dot as the nose and a little tiny 3 pixel long line for the mouth.

Effortless <3

Last night’s session of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School featuring the amazing ariel insanity of Vesperi.

Question by CK: Who would you contact to change something involving high schools?
Ok, for school, I have to do a persuasive speech. My topic is “Martial Arts should be taught in schools.”

At the end of the speech, I have to give information on how this could become a reality. So I would say something like: If you would like to help make this become a reality, please contact ‘so and so’. Like if this were something I was actually trying to make a reality (which it really isn’t), who would I contact? The secretary of education? A State representative?

I’m not actually trying to make this become a reality, this is all hypothetical for my speech.

Question by liz: What to cosplay as for my first comic-con?
Hi! So this year will be my first time ever attending comic-con and I need help deciding what to cosplay as. I would prefer to stray away from things that are overdone, but if I do something like that I will just have to make the costume better.
I am going to be handmaking everything so nothing too crazy please.
I will give you some of my interests to give you an idea of what I like: world of warcraft, pokemon, .hack, final fantasy, xenosaga, sonic, anything nintendo or sony related. Pretty much everything except super heroes aren’t really my thing
Now here’s me in a nutshell so you get an idea of what I can and cannot wear:
I’m 5’2 caucasian girl. Shoulder length blonde hair (willing to cut and dye or buy wig). Large breasts. Small waist and small build pretty much everywhere except the breasts. :p haha.
Help me out guys :) I’m being very indecisive.

Best answer:

Answer by Caitlin
Depends on what characters you like! If this is going to be your first cosplay, you might want something easy to start off with. Sorry, I don’t know a lot about WoW, .hack, or Xenosaga (sorry!) but everything else, I have suggestions for.

Pokemon:
Either Whitney from Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, or Skyla from Pokémon Black/White.

Final Fantasy:
Im thinking maybe Tifa Lockhart from FFVII? Or maybe Rikku from FFX. I don’t know, I’m thinking maybe a Tifa cosplay would look the best.

Sonic:
I don’t know, maybe a human version of Amy Rose, or Rouge the Bat?

Nintendo:
Maybe Princess Zelda from OoT or SS would look pretty cool.

I’ll leave the choice up to you, but at least now you have a few suggestions. Hope this helped!

Hei (Messier Code: BK-201) in the Darker than Black, one of my favorite anime/manga.

(Sorry. This isn’t my best. Had to rush.)

Question by Joshua: What are the best art supplies for drawing manga and anime?
i have $ 20.00 as a limit preferably from amazon and i need good art pencils and a drawing pad that are good for drawing manga and anime.

Best answer:

Answer by Kristi
20 bucks is good to start building up your art supplies, so I’ll list the very very basic necessities. This usually includes regular pencils or art pencils. Art pencils do not have an eraser and you can choose whether or not you want them hard, dark, or black. Since they’re just pencils, it’s not absolutely needed, but nice to have.
For pens, I suggest Copic or Sakura, because when you eventually get markers, regular ball point pens bleed and can ruin an already inked drawing. The Sakura Pigma Micron Set of six pens is reasonably priced at about ten dollars on Amazon. But unless you are planning to buy art markers, you don’t need these just yet either. Just depends on whether you want the quality of the art pens or sketching with just a ball point pen.
Now on to colored pencils! I personally love Prismacolor. They blend well and give a nice color. Unfortunately, large sets of these pencils can cost up to almost 50 dollars, so a smaller set would be best. The Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencil 24 color set is about 17 dollars. So if you plan on just getting colored pencils, these are the best option! There are probably smaller sets, but this one is just the right size when starting out.
For later on if you decide to expand your variety of manga and anime mediums, I suggest buying a small set of art markers. These give that almost printed-out digital look of digital anime. BUT they are extremely expensive, with a set of 12 markers being pretty much $ 50! Some brands are Copic, Design2, and Prismacolor. Although, I would wait on these.
For a sketch pad, Strathmore is a good brand. An 8 x 10 with 400 pages is almost 8 dollars, so if you want a basic sketch pad, this is the way to go. Canson is great too, but their sketch pads are a little more expensive. If you’re willing to go a little higher, to about 14 dollars, Pentalic has a nice wire bound sketchbook.

But when it comes down to it, it isn’t the material you use that makes your manga and anime drawings good, it’s how you use your supplies. I’ve drawn with a ballpoint pen from a hotel in New York and colored it in with Crayola colored pencils and it still looked like the art you see online! But it is also very good to have nice supplies as well!

Hope this helped!
