Question by piplup: Making cosplay costumes when I get older?
Im thinking about becoming a costume designer when I get older.
And I want to make costumes like, dragon ball, sailor moon, sonic and other anime and maybe other cool stuff.
I would like to know how much money would I earn?
How much could I possibly make a year?
I could also possibly open up a store for these costumes.
And what will I need to know how to do? Sew etc.

You can actually accept commissions on cosplays even if you aren’t a costume designer. There are actually many doing that right now:
-Earnings depend on their rates and the number of contracts they sign each year. So you work by commission
- $ 20,000 to $ 70,000 a year or more for most
-Completion of a theatre studies, fashion design, or related program is recommended. Knowledge of period and contemporary fashions is necessary. You should also have designing and sewing skills.
As a costume designer, you must be creative, have an eye for colour, pay attention to detail, and work well with your hands. Interpersonal skills are also highly important, as are research skills and knowledge of textiles and fabrics.
The ability to sketch designs is considered a necessary skill, even with the numerous computer applications available. You should also be able to work with a number of artistic tools, including various pens, pencils, paints, and inks.
Getting involved with amateur theatre and drama clubs is a good way to find out more about the world of stage productions.
